In 2013, I was asked to write for a popular web design site. In the post I broke down the different types of states that could result in no data, and how products were handling that state.
Product tear downs focusing on onboarding were getting attention, but the broader area of no-data states was seemingly absent.
I started to collect examples and wanted a low-friction way to share them with the industry so I purchased a domain and started a Tumblr. It gained some popularity and I've recently rebuilt it using Gatsby + Netlify; giving it a fresh lease of life.
